Waste of space

Hi

Glad to see (or not actually) i'm not the only one who's got to the end of their tether with this company.

Does anyone know the head office address for the Bett/Gladedale group in the UK?

I know writing to them will get me absolutely nowhere but it'll make me feel better. I have had them out for the 8th time today within the last 7 months.

And the so called 'customer care manager' actually put the phone down on me today because i said the number of times i have had to have them out was unacceptable.

Bett/Gladedale/Manor Kingdom/Furlong et al have a number of offices as you can imagine. There is one in Stirling which I believe the MD David Gaffney occasionally works out of. The addresses I have are at the bottom of this message.

Who was the Customer Care Manager that put the phone down on you – was it John Croal? He refused to speak to me on a number of occasions particularly when I asked if he was qualified to make comments about construction issues – never got an answer. He did say that the amount of correspondence was unacceptable though – sounds familiar. Or have you been fobbed of to someone else? What everyone needs to remember, for any house builder, is that these “Customer Care� people rarely know what they are talking about. They have a script and are incapable of thinking beyond it. Try it out and you will see what I mean. The same applies to the NHBC (the builder’s insurer paid for by the customer to protect the builder against the customer – figure that one out???????).

As a matter of interest what site are you on, what style of property do you have and what are the problems with the property? Send me a Personal message if you don’t want to do it publicly. I am almost certain that one of the problems will be cracking. There are a number of Bett/Gladedale owners I know who have significant cracking in places you wouldn’t expect – within 500mm of a movement joint????

All Bett/Gladedale customers should be aware that while the property may look OK on the surface it is what lies beneath that is the worry. The biggest problems with my property can’t be seen from the surface such as the oversailing underbuilding, insufficient wall ties, timber frame out of plumb and so on.

Just had them back to lift every floorboard up stairs to fix all the 'settled Dwangs' settled is one word cut too short is another !

They'll have to come back now as there is a knocking noise coming from my heating pipes again lol
