    Unhappy The Meadows Portlethen

Has anyone any knowledge of snagging problems on this development.
Should I expect the grass in front of my house to be mine, flanked on one side by neighbours drive, or am I wrong in thinking that him having a six inch wide strip of said grass is b@ll@cks. The only demarkation line is the edge of his lockblock drive, he steps out of car onto grass that I assumed was mine, it now has a worn track. When I contacted the developer i am told the six inch strip of grass is my neighbours and he can stand on it as he pleases. There was no mention of this when we bought house.

Difficult one this. The boundary is normaaly a staight line so continue out the fence line and see how this lines with the grass strip.

You may have a claim against Bett (Aka Gladedale Homes) under the Property Misdescriptions Act 1992. Contact your local trading standards and give them the details.

Thank you for response. It appears several other neighbours are in same situation, they only discovered this at weekend too. We checked fence line and it does indeed go in a line from fence six inches in from grass edge to pavement, a distance of 32ft. Site manager think neighbours should sort this out between them!

This is a legal issue and the poor old site manager should not get involved this time.

I was visiting this site today along with the Charles Church & Stewart Milne developments close by and would be interested to hear of any issues or snagging. The Bett site impressed me most as houses appear to have nice finishing touches with landscaped gardens.

From what I have seen on this forum alone I would AVOID Bett Homes who are part of Gladedale.

Don't pay too much attention to fancy show homes with their planted gardens either. You don't get this.

We were impressed to, the room sizes are excellent and we have a large back garden, which is far bigger than other developers are providing. Unfortunately any problems are being ignored, their after sales service is dismal.

We have an issue with boundary and back garden is three inches deep in water when it rains.

As posted in previous post, a boundary post has been installed some four months after we moved in, we thought front grass area was ours.

Tried to post images but need TEN posts before I can.
