I posted the below recently on the David Wilson Homes website. AS Barrett's now own DWH I recommend anyone buying a 'Barrett's' home at a development still managed by DWH to read the DWH part of this website. DWH have generated far more dissatisfaction and anger than Barrett's. You'll only get the quality you paid for and expect by fighting a very hard battle with them. Their understanding of Quality and Customer Satisfaction is astonishing.

My post on the DWH website:
I moved into a DWH home in December 2006
I've read many of the threads on this site and it is soooooo familiar.

To be fair our snagging list wasn't disastrous. What has been absolutely astonishing to me is the complete lack of progress DWH make on snagging unless you REALLY push them. Everything I've experienced in the last 7 months is just as described by so many others.

The Customer Services Director I have to deal with appears to feel that paying a visit to the house, making a few verbal commitments and then walking away is doing a good job. Time and again no action has followed from his commitments. He then gets angry with me for chasing him up! All I'm asking for is what I paid well in xs of £400k for. He also needs to understand it is very inconvenient for me to meet him during the day and to waste my time chasing him up with e-mails and phone calls.

As someone else said; why don't they just say they've got it wrong and then get themselves organized to fix it QUICKLY and PROPERLY.

I would have been a relatively satisfied customer if I felt there was some sincere attempt to recify and progress the issues promptly. Now they have a huge credibility problem to rectify.
