Assuming it is a plastic fascia, this would of been likely installed with polytop nails nailed to the rafter ends, if the gutters are then fixed to the fascia only, it would never carry the weight of a snow slide down the roof.
I would always make sure that a number of gutter brackets are screwed through the fascia into the rafter ends .................have seen this problem a number of times..........
